The committee of profile of the parliament of Kyrgyzstan approved a bill related to civil servants and deputies who have a passport of foreign country will be deprived not only of a post or mandate, but also they will face criminal responsibility and fines.
One of the authors of the draft law mentioned that these amendments must be adopted before the parliamentary elections in 2020, since they are essential "for the exclusion of dual citizenship from future candidates":
"This concerns the people who have political offices.The bill will not influence on simple residents of the country.We determine the responsibility for fines.If it is revealed that the holder of dual citizenship hid this information, he will have to pay in favor of the state from 250 thousands to 300 thousand soms (more than 3600 dollars), these measures are not taken to put people in, but to take preventive measures", told the deputy Dastan Bekeshev.
