As the bread and flour deficit rises in the regions of Turkmenistan, the population is leaving the country, reports "Chronicle of Turkmenistan" edition.
In Tazabazar, the Mary Province, there are a lot of private houses locked with doors and windows. The same scenes are seen in Bairamali, Yoleten, Turkmenagala and Murgab districts. Some have moved permanently, while some have temporarily been forced to flee.
Population explained that they were forced to leave the country because of the lack of bread and flour. Earlier, six kilograms of white flour of the first grade were sold, and now only one kilogram of white flour and five kilograms of black wheat are sold. However, black flour itself sells itself at a price of the first grade. One kilo flour is 1 manat.
Especially in rural areas, unemployment is rising, and some people are unable to purchase the one kilo flour. If it does not buy it in time, it will not be included in the next month.
Flour is less popular in state shops, and it comes too late. That is why the residents are quick to stand in line. Sometimes, 200 or more people are in the queue. People are queued at 6 o'clock in the morning.
It is difficult to travel abroad, but villagers have to spend the last money or borrow from their neighbors and acquaintances. For some, foreign relatives are helping them with fewer funds.
