The US embassy donated 8 million dollars worth of military equipment to Tajikistan in order to help prevent drug trafficking and fight terrorism.

Employee of US embassy in Dushanbe, Kevin Cowert told that the security in Tajikistan is a key to stability in Central Asia. "The cost of military equipment given to Tajikistan exceeds 8 million dollars. We always support Tajikistan to safegueard security and strength its border with Afghanistan", - mentioned Kevin Cowert.

According to him, Washington gives irrevocable assistance to Tajikistan which worth 70 million dollars every year.

In addition, in their turn, Tajikistan says that Washington's assistance to Tajikistan is very important. The chairman of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan, Saimumin Ytimov, told that such cooperation promotes the fight against international terrorism and helps to strengthen security.
