The Ministry of Health developed a draft law "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Issues of Circulation of Medicines and Medicinal Products," which provides for the regulation of prices for all medicines from January 1, 2019, reports the press service departments.
"The planned changes in the formation of prices for medicines depends 4 levels of price regulation: at the level of the producer, wholesale sales, retail sales, also procurement under the GVFMP and the OSMS system," the report reads.
The registration of producer prices will be based on the prices of reference countries for consumer packaging, with further regulation of the margin of wholesale and retail sales of medicines through a regressive mark-up scale.
Currently, the bill is under consideration in the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, in the near future it will be submitted for the second reading and sent to the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan. The law will be signed before the end of this year.
"In addition, from the beginning of 2017, the Ministry has completely revised the list of the Single Distributor, taking into account the centralization of procurement of pharmacological services and the list of medicines, medicines for free provision of the population in the GOBMP at the outpatient level," the ministry noted.
