Canadian company SkyPower Global will invest $ 1.3 billion in solar energy in Uzbekistan.

This is stated in the decree of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyev "On additional measures to implement investment projects in the field of renewable energy sources." In particular, an agreement was signed between JSC Uzbekenergo and SkyPower Global on the purchase of electricity.

According to the agreement, the Canadian company, through its own funds and independently attracted loans, is implementing a project to finance, build, own and operate solar photovoltaic facilities with a total capacity of 1,000 megawatts of alternating current.

The project is being implemented in Tashkent, Samarkand, Navoi, Jizzakh, Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions.
