Uzbekistan ranked 8th on the list of the poorest countries in accordance with the level of gross domestic product (GDP) per capita, compiled by FocusEconomics.
According to forecasts, in 2018 GDP per capita in Uzbekistan will reach $ 1,026, and by 2022 - $ 1,646. Experts of FocusEconomics expect that GDP will grow by 6.2% in 2018 and by 6.1% in 2019.
Tajikistan is the poorest country among Central Asian countries with a per capita GDP of $ 836. Immediately following Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan is located with a GDP per capita of $ 1,222.
The first three of the poorest countries included Congo (GDP per capita - $ 468), Mozambique (GDP per capita - $ 486) and Uganda (GDP per capita - $ 738).
Recall, in 2016, GDP per capita of Uzbekistan was $ 2,145.
