Kazakhstan has improved its position on the Logistics Performance Index (LPI), the press service of the Ministry for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan reports.

"Kazakhstan ranked 71st among 160 countries in the logistics efficiency index, rising 6 positions compared to 2016, ahead of Russia (75), Uzbekistan (99), Belarus (103), Kyrgyzstan (108), Georgia (119), Turkmenistan (126) and Tajikistan (134), "the message reads.

"Several factors influenced the improvement of logistics efficiency, including the implementation of large infrastructure projects in the transport sector, reducing the time for crossing borders, reducing the number of documents in the implementation of foreign economic activity, improving the services provided by private business entities in all modes of transport and in the field of transport logistics", explains in the information.

Leaders in the LPI index in 2018 were: Germany, Sweden, Belgium, Austria and Japan.

The LPI index is the World Bank index, which considers the ease of delivery of goods and the state of trade logistics at the national and international levels.
