At the plenary session of the Senate of the Parliament the draft Constitutional Law "On elections" was considered. The Senate deputies objected to the new document previously approved by the Mazhilis.
They said that the heads of towns should not be elected by secret voting in polling stations. According to the them, there is no need to make such a change in the law. It is better to appoint rural governors in the same order. That is, akims should be elected by deputies of the district maslikhat.
The deputies of the Senate sent this document to the Mazhilis for consideration. If the representatives of the lower house disagree with the opinion of the senators, then the additional commission will be established and the dispute will be settled jointly.
