Mayor of Almaty Bauyrzhan Baibek held an extended meeting with the taking part of all contractor organizations on the issues of repairing of the city-wide highway. It is planned to repair 157 streets in Almaty in 2018 and to dismantle tramways 15,7 km long on Makatayev, Baitursynov and Zharokov streets.
During the meeting, the head of the Department of Passenger Transport and Motor Roads of the city Maksut Issahov reported that all repairs will be completed in November 2018 and 24 streets will be completely renovated and 43% of streets will be reconstructed.
In addition, the mayor of metropolis has strictly criticized the plan of the board and instructed to revise the design methods and making a specific schedule. It should be noted that the city has enough parking pockets which are still located incorrectly.

Summing up the work Bauyrzhan Baibek gave instruction to the Department of Passenger Transport and Motor Roads to make schedule in a week, and there should be specified the exact date and time of the work of each contractor. Optimized work schedule must be presented at the next meeting. This kind of assignment was also instructed to the Department of Energy and Utilities of the city.
