For the first time, Uzbekistan will host a regional conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the UN, reports the Ministry of Agriculture.
On June 23, during the meetings held before the 41st session, the FAO and the ministers of agriculture of 51 European and Asian countries supported the initiative to hold the 32nd regional conference for Europe in Uzbekistan.
“This regional conference will be held on May 5-7, 2020 and among the countries of Central Asia will be held in Uzbekistan for the first time. FAO's strategic goals are to contribute to the fight against hunger, increase the fertility and stability of agriculture, forestry and fish farming, and reduce poverty in rural areas,” the message says.
As noted, the delegation of Uzbekistan holds negotiations with various countries, in particular, the ministers of agriculture of the United States, China, Egypt, the Republic of Korea, Ukraine, Chile, Kazakhstan and representatives of other official circles.
