Tajikistan has increased exports and imports of precious and semiprecious stones and metals since the beginning of this year, reports the Statistical Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Exports of precious and semi-precious stones and metals increased 53.5 times, while sales abroad increased 2.3 times. Exports of precious and semiprecious stones and metals, has developed a total of more than 42.9 million US dollars, which exceeded the figures for the same period in 2018 by more than 42.1 million million dollars.
The growth in exports of these metals exceeded the similar figures for 2018 by 53.5 times. The amount of imports of precious and semiprecious stones and metals for this period amounted to more than $ 2 million, which is 2.3 times more than the 2018 figure.
According to a report by the World Gold Council, Tajikistan sold one ton of gold in the first quarter of this year and entered the top three largest sellers of this precious metal in the world.
According to the document, the central banks of Uzbekistan, Mongolia and Tajikistan are among the three largest gold sellers. In the first quarter of this year, Uzbekistan sold - 6.2 tons of gold, Mongolia - 3.4 tons, and Tajikistan - 1 ton.
