"Life expectancy of HIV-infected patients receiving antiretroviral therapy (ART) and observance of all the recommendations of health workers is practically the same as that of healthy people .If the requirements are not complied with, the life expectancy is 7 to 15 years from the date of introduction of the virus," he said.
According to the Ministry of Health, in general, Kazakhstan is among countries with low HIV prevalence.
"At the same time, we annually observe a 10% increase in new HIV cases, and this is the contribution of migrants. Over the past year, about 3 million (14% of the population) HIV tests were tested among population groups that are both voluntary , as well as mandatory testing, 2,800 new HIV cases were detected, while more than 16,000 foreigners were examined last year and 0.2% of the cases were found. If looking at vulnerable groups of the population, the percentage of detection among foreigners is 9% ", said the Vice Minister of Health Lyazzat Aktaeva.
At the same time, she stressed that human rights are observed in Kazakhstan, and HIV-positive migrants are not deported, unlike Russia and Uzbekistan.
