'Children and teenagers under the age of 16 offered to be forbidden to attend religious ceremonies if one of the parents’ objects’, said the Minister of Religious Affairs and Civil Society Nurlan Yermekbayev, during the presentation of the draft law on religious activities in the Majilis.
‘It is proposed to increase the requirements for conducting worship services, religious ceremonies, ceremonies, meetings with minors. It is suggested that the children and young people under the age of 16 should not be attracted to rites and ceremonies unaccompanied by one of the parents or adult close relatives, or legal representatives, as well as with the objection of one of the parents’, the Minister said.
He also said that the new law would prohibit religious rites and ceremonies of marriage in religious buildings.
