Former President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev returned to Kyrgyzstan from Russia. He was met by supporters with flags. Commenting on his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he said: "Vladimir Putin is close person for me and my friend. He invited me, sent me board sent, how can I not go?! This is not interference in internal affairs. He worries, I worry too. All revolution makes power. Instead of engaging in the development of the country, the authorities are engaged in intrigues and suit their relatives".

In additon, since June, Atambayev was in a state of siege in his residence in the village of Koy-Tash. The parliament deprived of his immunity, he was threatened with arrest. On July 24, the ex-president went to Russia, until the last moment without revealing exactly who invited him there. At the same time, he stressed that he was not going to run and would definitely return on July 25.
