The President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon met with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Suma Chakrabarti, who arrived in Dushanbe on a visit.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between the republic and the bank. Emomali Rahmon noted that the results of the meeting create conditions for the development of cooperation between the parties in new directions.

Two sides discussed issues related to the development of relations in the field of energy, in particular in the field of efficient use of electricity, the creation of transport infrastructure in order to expand regional cooperation, support for the private sector, as well as improving the economic well-being of the population.

Besides, it was noted that in the framework of EBRD financing, a total of 755 million dollars in Tajikistan, 127 different projects were implemented.

In addition, currently, there are 22 projects in the country at the implementation stage, for which the EBRD provided 520 million dollars.
