The International Conference on the Conservation of the Snow Leopard to hold on July 3-4 in Nur-Sultan. The event is organized by the Snow Leopard Foundation, a private international fund for the preservation of snow leopards.
According to the Organizing Committee of the conference, representatives of all 12 countries on whose territory the snow leopard lives - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Mongolia, China, India, Nepal, Bhutan and Russia have already confirmed their participation in the conference.
Experts from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), the Snow Leopard Trust, the Secretariat of the Global Program for the Conservation of the Snow Leopard and its Ecosystems (GSLEP) and other international organizations, representatives of international environmental agencies and private foundations will come to the capital of Kazakhstan.
The theme of the conference is “Conservation of the snow leopard: state of populations, landscape management and transboundary cooperation”. The main objective of the event is to gather representatives of the world scientific and environmental community, specializing in the study of the snow leopard and the preservation of a unique animal.
