Information about the negotiations of Kazakhstan on the construction of nuclear power plants with South Korean companies is not true. Work on the development of a feasibility study for the construction of nuclear power plants in Kazakhstan is not being conducted, the Ministry of Energy said, wrote informburo.

"An international tender for participation in the NPP construction project in Kazakhstan is not being conducted and is not planned. We firmly declare that any decisions on the development of the energy sector will be made only in strict accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and considering the opinion of the public," said Nurlybek Jenisbek, a ministry spokesman.

Earlier in the media there was information that companies from the USA, China, Russia, South Korea and the French-Japanese consortium will compete for the tender for the construction of two nuclear power plants in Kazakhstan.
