Since the beginning of this year, only 265.5 thousand cubic meters of gas have been produced in the country. This figure is 35.2% less compared to January-April last year, the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the country reports.

“Meanwhile, the amount of natural gas imports from neighboring Uzbekistan during this period amounted to more than $ 8.1 million,” the message reads.

Tajik gas distribution company OAO Tajikzhtransgaz does not provide data on the volume of imports of natural gas and prices for it.

Recall that last year the republic received almost 54 million cubic meters of Uzbek gas. More than two dozen enterprises are supplied with imported gas, including the Tajik Aluminum Company.

Earlier it was reported that Tajikistan plans this year to increase the supply of natural gas from Uzbekistan four times.
