"On May 30, 156 Uzbek citizens, mostly women and children, tricked into the zone of armed conflicts in the Middle East, were delivered to Tashkent by the order President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev by special flight," the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan reports.

The Uzbek government will provide comprehensive assistance for rehabilitation and reintegration to all Uzbek citizens who returned to their homeland after a difficult life.

“They will be provided with access to medical care and psychosocial support, educational and other social programs. The necessary conditions for the return to a normal peaceful life, including through the provision of adequate housing and employment, will be created for the dismissed compatriots, ”follows from the report.

The humanitarian mission to rescue the Uzbeks was conducted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, special services and other departments of Uzbekistan. Support was also provided by a number of foreign countries and international organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross and UNICEF.
