At the invitation of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on May 27-29, President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier will visit the country, the presidential press service reports.
The presidents of the two countries will discuss prospects for further expansion of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, financial and technical, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as cooperation in the framework of the Uzbekistan-European Union format.
An exchange of views on topical issues of the international and regional agenda is also scheduled.
Within the visit, meetings of F. Steinmeier with representatives of leading companies and banks of Uzbekistan and Germany, the public, visiting a number of industrial and other facilities to hold.
In addition, F.Steinmeier will visit Khorezm region, where he will meet with faculty and students of Urgench State University, as well as get acquainted with the historical and architectural landmarks of Khiva.
Following the visit, it is expected that agreements will be signed aimed at further deepening bilateral relations in the fields of economy, finance, education, health care and environmental protection.
