Uzbekistan plans to join the World Nuclear Association, reports the press service MFA.
The WNA delegation headed by Dr. Patricia Wieland, head of the World Nuclear University, took part in the 14th International Forum and Power Uzbekistan 2019 exhibition in Tashkent on May 15-17. During the visit, P. Wieland made a report on the development of the energy industry in Uzbekistan and in the Central Asian region as a whole.
On May 16, the Agency “Uzatom” and the World Nuclear University should further sign a memorandum of understanding, providing for further mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of exchange of experience and training of specialists in the field of civilian atomic energy.
"During the visit, issues of cooperation in areas such as the entry of Uzbekistan into the association as a full member, the organization of short-term training courses of the World Nuclear University in Uzbekistan for Uzbek specialists in the nuclear field were discussed," the report reads.
