Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to visit Uzbekistan

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov arrives in Uzbekistan on a working visit, reports Uzbek MFA.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will receive Russia’s Foreign Minister.

The program of the visit envisages bilateral negotiations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, during which it is planned to discuss the implementation of the previously reached joint agreements in political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other fields.

The parties will exchange views on international and security issues in the region, including facilitating the launch of the peace process in Afghanistan.

On May 3, Minister Sergey Lavrov will attend the 11th meeting of the States Parties to the Memorandum of Understanding on regional cooperation in the field of drug control, in Tashkent.
