The head of state discussed the current state and prospects of the country's railway industry with the chairman of the board of JSC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" Sauat Mynbayev, reports Akorda.

The head of JSC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" informed the President of Kazakhstan about the results of the company's activities for the first quarter of 2019 and plans for the current year, as well as about the main directions for the implementation of the sectoral Roadmap.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated the need to take measures for the development of rail transport. Among the key goals for the upcoming period, he called the further modernization of railways, building up the transport, logistics and transit potential of the country.

Following the meeting, the Head of State gave a number of specific instructions.
