A meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council with the participation of the presidents of all countries participating in the union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia) will be held in Nur-Sultan on May 29.
According to the Kommersant newspaper, a new position might be created at the meeting, specifically for the first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. He resigned on March 19 of this year. However, now there is no such position, and the powers have not yet been determined. It is only known that the honorary chairman of the EAEU will be able to represent the union before other countries.
In 1994, Nazarbayev proposed the creation of the EAEU. This year it is 79 years old.
