During the visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the UAE, agreements were reached totaling more than 10 billion dollars, reports the press service of the head of Uzbekistan.
An agreement has been reached to expand trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Particular attention is paid to strengthening practical cooperation in the areas of tourism and public security.
The task was set to bring the volume of mutual trade up to 1 billion dollars in the coming years, to increase the supply of goods, to implement joint projects for processing raw materials and manufacturing value-added products.
Following the meeting, a Joint Statement was adopted between Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates. Documents were signed on cooperation in the areas of investment, finance, alternative energy, industrial and infrastructure development, agriculture, and customs administration.
Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and the UAE were established on October 25, 1992.
Today in Uzbekistan there are 107 enterprises with participation of investments from the Emirates, 28 representative offices of firms and companies are opened. In 2018, trade turnover between the countries amounted to almost $ 400 million.
