Former President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev apologized for bringing Jeenbekov to power at a rally-requiem organized by the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan (SDPK) in Bishkek.
He noted that he regrets for bringing Jeenbekov (current head of state) to power.
“I apologize for the fact that all my life, struggling with family-authoritarian regimes, I could not see the inside of such a person, and brought such a family to power”, - stressed ex-president of Kyrgyzstan Atambayev.
Moreover, he mentioned that “he will try to correct his mistake and tell the truth”. Atambayev accused the current authorities of having embarked on the path of family rule. And he appealed to the current Kyrgyz president to abandon it.
In addition, ex-president added that the people need an independent Kyrgyzstan, and the head of state should pursue a policy on an equal footing. As stated by him, every day the current government begins to resemble the rule of Kurmanbek Bakiyev, and since last year the pressure on his family has increased.
Recall, on December 19, Sooronbay Jeenbekov held his first press conference in Bishkek as the president of Kyrgyzstan. In the conference he commented on the family-clan management system. He said that he will never allow a clan management system in Kyrgyzstan. "During my presidency family management, clan management and group dominance will never exist", - noted Jeenbekov.
