Kazakhstan and Astana entered the top twenty countries and capitals with the most polluted air, reports AirViual.
Kazakhstan ranked 20th out of 73 in the ranking of countries with the most polluted air, beating Peru and giving way to Kosovo.
According to the rating, the countries with the highest air pollution were Bangladesh, Pakistan and India, which took the first three lines. Uzbekistan took the 16th place, Lithuania - 42, Ukraine - 49, Russia - 58, Estonia - 70. The countries with the cleanest air - Australia, Finland, Iceland - close the list.
In addition, in the ranking of capitals with the dirtiest air, Astana took 19th place out of 62, Kiev - 45, Moscow - 53.
The rating is based on air quality data for 2018, obtained from public monitoring sources, and special attention was paid to data that were published in real time. Sources include government monitoring networks, as well as verified data from individuals and organizations monitoring air quality.
