Since 2007, 3,331 citizens of Kyrgyzstan have left for work in the Republic of Korea. The deputy director of the Information and Consultation Center at the State Migration Service of the country Almaz Alybayev said.
According to him, on July 24, 2007, a Memorandum was signed, approved by order of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic of July 13, 2007 No. 167 between the State Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic on Migration and Employment and the Korean Ministry of Labor on sending workers to Korea under the work permit issue program.
“During the validity of the Memorandum of Understanding, 12 tests of knowledge of the Korean language were conducted, in which 15 thousand 44 people took part. 3 thousand 31 people were sent to work. The validity term of the Memorandum is 2 years and updates are required after this period. Thus, since the moment of signing, the Memorandum was updated four times - in 2010, 2012, 2015 and in 2018,” said Alybayev.
“On average, the basic salary of those who went to work without allowances is from $ 1,200 or more at an 8–9 hour day. Accommodation and meals are provided by the employer,” he added.
