Uzbekistan widely celebrates the 81st anniversary of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov’s birth, reports the press service of Uzbek government.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Scientific Enlightenment Memorial Complex named after Islam Karimov, laid flowers at the monument to the great statesman and politician, paid tribute to his bright memory.
Large-scale activities are carried out on perpetuating the memory of Islam Karimov at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. In accordance with resolutions of the Head of the state “On celebration of the 80th anniversary of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, outstanding statesman and politician Islam Abduganiyevich Karimov’s birth” of November 27, 2017 and “On perpetuation of the memory of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Abduganiyevich Karimov” of January 25, 2018, monuments to Islam Karimov were erected in Tashkent, Samarkand and Karshi. The Oqsaroy residence, where the First President led effective activity for many years turned into a memorial complex. Tashkent International Airport, large institutions and organizations, central streets in Tashkent and regional centers are named after him.
In addition, deputies, senators and members of the government, scientists and cultural workers, youth, representatives of the general public attended the ceremony of laying flowers.
