Kazakhstan's population rose by 1,3% in last year

The population of Kazakhstan as of December 1, 2018 increased by 238,900 or 1,3% to 2017. And amounted to 18 million 376,2 thousand people, reports the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan.

Especially, the total number of urban population amounted to 10 million 626,2 thousand people or 57,8% of the total population. The rural population was 7 million 750 thousand or 42,2%. In January-November last year, 2,882 children aged under 1 year-old (2896 in January-November 2017) were died in the country. During the eleven months of 2018, 7,86 out of 1000 children were died.

The main cause of infant mortality was the cases of perinatal period. As a result, in January-November last year, 1474 children (51,1% of the total) were died. The number of immigrants in Kazakhstan in January-November 2018 decreased by 20,5% as compared to the previous year and the number of those who left increased by 11,9%. 78,6% of the country's visitors came from CIS countries, and 90,3% of the departed to the Commonwealth countries.
