Second consular consultations between Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates were held in Abu Dhabi. The Kazakh delegation was headed by Director of the Department of the Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tauboldy Umbetbayev, the Emirates side – by Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Consular Affairs Mansour Al Faheem.
During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in the consular area. In particular, the meeting discussed consular, legal and visa relations, as well as the protection of the rights and interests of citizens of both countries.
Relations between Kazakhstan and the UAE are developing dynamically in all directions, especially in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian areas.
Thanks to close and mutually beneficial cooperation, on March 10, 2018, the Protocol on exemption of holders of regular passports from visa requirements, signed on May 23, 2017 in Astana, entered into force.
However, on July 4-5 this year the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Minister of Justice of the United Arab Emirates signed the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates on the transfer of sentenced persons.
Following the results of the consular consultations, the relevant Protocol was signed.
