The number of women suffering from breast cancer is increasing in Tajikistan. This is evidenced by a study of a group of Tajik scientists, which was published earlier this year.
Doctor of Medical Sciences Same Rasulov, Professor Zarrina Rofieva and young scientist Kosif Rasulov studied this question from 2006 to 2016 and concluded that during this period the number of women suffering from breast cancer grew by one percent annually. If in 2006, 229 women suffered from breast cancer, then in 2016, 467 cases of this terrible disease were officially registered.
Moreover, 312 women and girls died from breast cancer in Tajikistan in 2016.
Researchers say that breast cancer in Tajikistan is in second place in the list of the most common cancers after cervical cancer.
