In Turkmenistan, on January 1, 2019, the law on the prevention of the harmful effects of alcohol will come into force. It will be introduced in stages, following the first entry changes will take effect from July 1, 2019, the final - from January 1, 2021, reports Chronicles of Turkmenistan.
According to the law, from January 1, 2019, alcohol trade can only be carried out in wine-vodka departments of stores and in specialized outlets, also in restaurants, bars and cafes, and only if there is a cash register and payment terminal.
In addition, the sale of alcohol in stores is permissible only on weekdays from 10:00 to 20:00, and on non-working holidays and memorable dates, the sale of alcohol is prohibited. Buy alcohol can only persons who have reached the age of 21.
The sale of alcohol through the Internet and other means of telecommunications will be prohibited; and information about alcoholic beverages must be indicated on the container (label) in Turkmen and in Russian or English. It will not be possible to drink in sanatoria, medical, military, sports and cultural institutions, as well as in trains, on sea and river vessels and in airplanes.
