 
                                    The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Costa Rica Andrian Yelemessov presented his credentials to Costa Rica's President Carlos Alvarado Quesada, reports the press service of Kazakh MFA.
Ambassador Yelemessov and the President discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Costa Rica. The Kazakh diplomat noted Kazakhstan's modernisation processes, the development of which is based on initiatives by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Mr. Yelemessov also discussed the expansion of economic and legal ties between the two countries and proposed to enter into an agreement on mutual exemption of visa requirements for citizens of the two countries in the near future.
The Ambassador also pointed to President Nazarbayev's role in non-proliferation and disarmament, the fight against international terrorism, and against climate change. Mr. Yelemessov told President Alvarado about the latest international achievements of Kazakhstan, in particular, as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. He expressed gratitude to the President of Costa Rica for the support provided during Kazakhstan's election to the Security Council and for the participation in the Astana EXPO 2017 international exhibition.
In turn, President Alvarado extended his greetings to his Kazakh counterpart President Nazarbayev and the friendly people of Kazakhstan. He underlined that the issues of international disarmament and world peace are crucial for his country, and assured Costa Rica's support for Kazakhstan's global initiatives.
