A monument of famous Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov opened in Moscow. The monument was installed in the park, also named after the writer.
A landmark event on the eve of the master's 90th anniversary was held with the participation of Kyrgyz President Sooronbai Jeenbekov and Russian officials.
The President noted at the beginning of his speech that today's event is very important and significant for two peoples and the entire literary world as a whole, sincerely congratulating all those present on this significant day.
“From the whole Kyrgyz people I want to express my sincere thanks to all those who participated in the implementation of this project. Today we are witnessing the discovery of this beautiful work of art. Once again, we are convinced that not only in Kyrgyzstan, but also in Russia, the memory and work of Chingiz Aitmatov is honored. Aitmatov is a classic not only of Kyrgyz, but also of Russian literature. With his talent, he was able to become a prominent representative of both Kyrgyz and Russian literature. He himself always said that both Kyrgyz and Russian are his two wings. He was the kind of person from whom always the good was always expected,” said S. Jeenbekov.
