Nazarbayev has invited young people to learn Chinese

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has invited young people to learn a foreign language, especially Chinese.

The Head of State said this at the forum "Heritage of Great Steppers" dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools (NIS).

"This year's NIS students have begun to learn the second foreign language at their own choice, and the knowledge of foreign languages ​​is an important thing in the globalization era. The most common language is English, the second is Spanish. However, Chinese is very important for us", - noted Nazarbayev.

He pointed out that at present trade turnover made up 20% with China, with Russia - 22%, with the European Union - 30%.

"Business both in Japan and China speak English, but more than billion people speak in Chinese language. I have never tried to learn Chinese, but I heard that it is easier to learn for Kazakhs than others", - mentioned Nazarbayev.

Recall, it should be noted that in recent years, ethnic Kazakhs in China have been under pressure from Chinese government. Previously, mass media published information that "the Kazakhs were subjected to political re-education camps in China". However, in spite of this situation, Nursultan Nazarbayev has suggested to young people to learn Chinese language.
