The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Muynak district, reports press service of Uzbek President.

More than 30 thousand people live in Muynak, the northernmost district of the country. Most of the working-age population is engaged in production, services, trade, agriculture and others.

In recent years, living standards of the population has increased significantly as a result of specific measures taken to improve the environmental situation in the district, provide the population with clean drinking water, create new jobs.

In accordance with the resolution of the Head of the country “On additional measures for economic development and employment of the population of Muynak district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan in 2017-2018” of February 28, 2017, the production of textile, pharmaceutical and electrical products, equipment for drip irrigation, plastic pipes have been organized, opportunities for development of fishing industry and tourism has been launched here.

In 2019, it is planned to implement 12 projects in the sphere of industry, 5 projects in agriculture, 14 projects in the field of services. Construction projects and repair of objects of the social sphere, development of engineering and communication networks are developed.

The President got acquainted with presentation of these projects, gave instructions on organization of production of demanded products in the domestic market, using potential and natural resources of Muynak. For example, there are many reeds in the district. It is possible to provide jobs for youth by organizing enterprises for its processing and production of building materials. Reservoirs are also advantages of the district, by developing fish farming here it will become possible to provide prosperity in many families.

It is also possible to engage in animal husbandry, especially breeding goats, which are well adapted to environment and unpretentious to feed. Production of goat wool products could provide women with jobs.

Residents of Muynak have suffered from the Aral disaster, says Shavkat Mirziyoyev. We must thank them for their resilience, patriotism, hard work and adequately serve in return.

The Head of the country instructed to build 20 apartment buildings in Muynak in the next two years, thus creating new residential area. The need for using modern achievements of urban development, formation of exemplary infrastructure was noted.

A dialogue with representatives of local population was held at the Ecology Museum. New great prospects for the district were discussed. The visit of the President of the country, his attention to comprehensive development of the district pleased and inspired Muynak people.
