Nazarbayev proposed creating a Collective Security Organization in Asia. He made such a statement on November 13, speaking at the plenary meeting of the Astana Club in the capital of Kazakhstan.
“I think its appearance is a matter of time. The Kazakhstan Initiative of Conferences on Interaction of Confidence Building Measures in Asia, in which 30 countries of the Asian continent are now participating, could become the foundation for a future organization for security cooperation in Asia, ”said Nazarbayev.
In addition, according to the Kazakh president, "it is advisable to hold a conference on security in Eurasia in Astana".
As stated by Nazarbayev, the Asian Collective Security Organization, together with the OSCE, could organize a security zone in the Eurasian subcontinent.
Recall, it should be noted that Kazakhstan is already a full member of such international regional organizations as the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
