The Monitoring Team for the implementation of UN Security Council sanctions against international terrorist organizations ISIL / Daesh / Al-Qaeda and the Taliban have visited Kazakhstan, reports the official website of Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
In the course of the visit, the team met with representatives of relevant government agencies to discuss terrorist threats to Central Asian countries coming from international terrorist organizations, as well as measures taken by Kazakhstan to prevent the financing of terrorism and movement of foreign terrorist fighters through Kazakhstan.
The Monitoring Team reviews the fulfillment by the UN member states of their obligations to implement the sanctions against these terrorist organizations at the national level. Kazakhstan chairs these sanctions committees as part of its non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council for 2017-2018.
