Uzbekistan has announced the possible introduction of sanctions against Ukraine due to the introduction of “repressive norms against goods of foreign origin on their territory”, reports Telegraf.by.
The deputies of the Uzbek parliament claim that Ukraine “violates the principles of fair competition" especially, it is trying to impose restrictive measures against Uzbek exports, unfairly accusing it of subsidizing certain sectors of the economy.
The interdepartmental commission on international trade of Ukraine launched an anti-subsidy investigation into the import of passenger cars from Uzbekistan on October 3. During 2015-2017, the volume of imports of cars from Uzbekistan increased by 760.7%, that is, almost 9 times. In Ukravtoprom this growth is attributed to the fact that Uzbek automakers could receive subsidies from the state bodies of Uzbekistan and enjoy certain benefits, says on the report.
In the first 7 months of 2018, imports of cars in Ukraine grew by 31% compared to the same period last year.
