The police of Turkmenabad are not allowed to take pictures in front of the monument to ex-president of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov. This was said by the residents of the city.

"I was going to take a picture before the monument to the former Uzbek President, however, two police officers came and demanded that I leave this place. I did not understand anything",- said one of the local residents.

The leaders of the two countries took part in the opening of a monument to the first president of Uzbekistan along Islam Karimov street in March last year.

It is not clear why it is not possible to take pictures before Karimov's monument. It is impossible to know the opinions of the local authorities. And police say that only such an order was received. In the city the statue of Karimov is guarded day and night.
