In Tajikistan, flour is getting expensive. 1 bag (50 kg) flour is sold at 160-180 somoni (17-19 dollars) depending on the sorts of flour in Dushanbe at present time. The first sorts of flour were 148 somoni in September.
A citizen of Dushanbe, Sattor Khallokov, says he purchased two bags of flour for 175 somoni a few days ago. "Two bags of flour can be used only one month, and I bought one bag for 145-150 somoni, and now most of people cook in bread at home, because the prices for bread are twice as expensive in stores", - said he.
Hayriddin Gafurov, a flour seller at the "Mehrabon" market, said that a high grade flour from Kazakhstan costs 180 somoni. As stated by him, Kazakhstan began to export wheat at an expensive price. That is why the price for flour has risen.
Moreover, these days Kazakhstan is considering the issue of refusing to export raw grain. The Kazakh mass media recently published the words of the head of the Association of Wheat Producers of the Karaganda region, and there he noted that they can increase the production of flour four times in Kazakhstan.
