Uzbekistan might lose its economic independence.
After the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Tashkent from October 18 to 19, media representatives have written about Uzbek-Russian relations. Some of them believe that Putin's recent trip as a "historic moment", while others think that " the economy of Uzbekistan is moving to someone else's hands".
A few days ago, Shavkat Mirziyoyev welcomed Vladimir Putin in Tashkent. During the meeting, two sides had signed about 800 documents worth 27 billion dollars.
As stated by the Uzbek journalists, Putin and Mirzieev signed all agreements from agriculture to space, from simple machines to military technology. The total cost of the deal was 27 billion dollars. Of these, 27,1 billion dollars is interregional, 1,76 billion dollars in trade and 25,3 billion dollars in investment contracts.
International experts think that if the Uzbek authorities work in the same direction with Russia, they will lose their economic independence in the next five to ten years. Because, Russia has begun to expand its influence on the CIS. Also, Vladimir Putin mentioned at a meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi: "The East is more important than the West at present time for Moscow. It's normal for Russia to return to Central Asia after the recent geopolitical situation in the world".
In addition, it is not difficult to see in what direction Russia will work after statement of Putin. Actually, a number of international expert groups have already noted that Russia is stepping up efforts to restore transport, rail, trade, economic and military-technical ties with CIS. This topic was discussed a few years ago when Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Russia created the Eurasian Economic Union. However, no one mentioned about this after that meeting.
