European Union is interested in buying gas from Turkmenistan.
Earlier, the Deputy Prime Minister The Delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Meredov paid an official visit to Brussels. They held a meeting with European Commission Vice President for Energy Marosh Shevchevich. Two sides held talks on the Transcaspian gas pipeline project which connected Europe and Turkmenistan and the further development of the Caspian development Corporation during the meeting.
According to official information distributed by Ashgabat, officials of the European Union are interested in buying Turkmenistan gas and they are ready to invest in the Trans-Caspian project.
Moreover, it is interesting to note that Trans-Caspian project of Turkmenistan, which has been in conflict for many years, was resolved at the summit in Aktau this year. The adoption of the Convention Sea a special legal status has allowed official Ashgabat to transport gas to Europe.
According to the Trans-Caspian project, Turkmenistan will transport 30 billion cubic meters of gas annually for 30 years. It is a big economic project for Ashgabat.
