Minister of Foreign Affairs Kairat Abdrakhmanov gave a briefing about the development of the institutional capacity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It came within the context of the recent State of the Nation Address made by President Nursultan Nazarbayev entitled “Growing Welfare of Kazakh Citizens: Increase in Income and Quality of Life.", reports official website of Foerign Minister of Kazakhstan.

“Next year, it is planned to introduce a new wage model based on a factor-point scale. This system is focused on the end result and assessment of the performance of an employee according to his or her effectiveness and efficiency. In this regard, the planning of activities will be of key importance, and therefore it is necessary to set clear objectives for harmonization with MFA policy documents in order to evaluate diplomats objectively," Mr. Abdrakhmanov said at a meeting with foreign ministry officials.

The ministry will continue maintaining a “zero tolerance" policy against individuals involved in corruption offenses. The work will be focused on minimizing internal risks of corruption through digitalization and automation. “Our ultimate goal is to fully transfer diplomatic service activities into a digital format and automate public services, thus excluding the possible impact of the human factor." The overriding priority is to establish a single information environment between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and foreign missions, which will considerably improve the efficiency of interaction, and facilitate internal procedures.

The ministry will continue to improve diplomatic service bodies, as well as systematize and streamline human resources policies.

An essential task will be the greater participation of Kazakh citizens in international structures, such as the UN and the OSCE, which will serve as the most effective way to promote and protect the interests of Kazakhstan in reputable global institutions that shape the international agenda. The minister pointed out that a solution for this task should be raised at the national level, and the issue of staffing should be addressed by the Bolashak program, the Ministry of Education, embassies and permanent missions of Kazakhstan under international organizations for the purposes of field activities.
