It is reported by the presidential press service reports.

The meeting was held in Tashkent on October 12. The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Defense of Azerbaijan Z. Hasanov, Armenia D. Tonoyan, Belarus A. Ravkov, Kazakhstan N. Ermekbayev, Russia S. Shoigu, Tajikistan Sh. Mirzo, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan R. Duyshenbiev and Secretary of the Council of Ministers of Defense CIS Y. Dashkin.

Sh. Mirzieyev noted that the meeting of the CIS Council of Ministers of Defense for the first time in Tashkent is evidence of a new stage of Uzbekistan’s participation in the activities of the community. In 2017 Uzbekistan has joined more than 10 sectoral cooperation bodies in such areas as economics, energy, science and innovation, the fight against crime and others.

"During the meeting, issues of further expansion of military and military-technical cooperation within the CIS, including inter-agency partnerships, bilateral and multilateral activities, and professional training of military personnel were considered," the report reads.

They also exchanged views on topical issues of international and regional politics, including ensuring security and stability.
