The Agriculture Ministry of Kazakhstan has declared that the restriction of Kyrgyzstan's imports of chicken and eggs is illegal.
On October 10, a media outlet reported that in the Almaty region in the last ten years there was no disease of bird flu. Quarantine, which was introduced in Aiyrtau district of North Kazakhstan region due to the Newcastle disease of birds, was obtained on September 19.
"In this regard, the restrictions on delivery of chicken and eggs from Almaty region and North Kazakhstan region of Kyrgyzstan are in vain", says in the ministry's statement.
In this regard, the Ministry has sent a letter to the State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Safety at the Government of Kyrgyzstan.
Recall, Kyrgyzstan has temporarily restricted imports of poultry meat from Kazakhstan due to an increase in the avian influenza epidemic in the area bordering Kazakhstan on October 9. Kyrgyzstan's official body has sent an official request to the authorities of Kazakhstan to determine the situation.
The State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Security of the Republic noted that, depending on the response of the Kazakh side, the restrictions will be extended or lifted.
