The trial of "bus fires" are still going on. In the course of the trial relatives of 52 Uzbek citizens demanded compensation of 150 million tenge for each of the dead.
Relatives of dead in court in Aktobe are connected by video from Saryagash district of Turkestan region. On October 3, the victims from Saryagash, Namangan Region, Abdullojon Khatamov and Mirzabulla Madraximov, connected through the Internet. They brought with them 22 petitions of the victims. In the letter, the victims asked the defendants to impose the most severe penalties on the defendants, and to recover material and moral damage.
The relatives of the defendants, who heard the complaint of the victim about 150 million tenge compensation, disagreed with this requirement.
In addition, it worth noting that five people are facing trial on this criminal case. Three of them are bus drivers and two are founder and mechanic of Asia Transit Service. The bus drivers Nurzhan Kyrgyzbaev, Maksat Pernebekov and Barat Tanatov have been in the detention center of Aktobe since January 26, 2018. They were "accused of violating fire safety requirements and violating the rules of traffic or using vehicles", and the head and mechanic of the company "Asia Transit Service" guaranteed pledge and released without a written permission.
On January 18 of this year, a passenger bus was burned on Shymkent-Samara highway, about 10 kilometers away from Kalybai village of Yrgiz district of Aktobe region. According to authorities, there were 57 people on the bus, 52 of them were killed. All victims were citizens of Uzbekistan. Two passengers and three drivers were survived.
