According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, an agreement was reached following the negotiations of the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Minister of Public Education Sh. Shermatov with the US Secretary of Education E. Devos in Washington (USA) on October 2.

"Following the talks, the parties agreed to continue contacts between the two ministries in the implementation of best practices in the United States to improve the school system in Uzbekistan," reads the statement.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States, the parties discussed the practical aspects of the development of cooperation in the field of education, aimed at the implementation of the agreements reached at the Uzbek-American summit in May 2018.
