Employees of  "Kuvasaicement" plant in the Kuvasai city of Ferghana region in Uzbekistan went on strike. According to Asiaterra.info, workers of  "Kuvasaicement" organized a protest action against massive abatement of staff.

Before the start of the working day, at 7 am, the bus rides to the gate of the factory and went to the trade union committee. The workers stated that they would not go to work unless they had listened to the opinios of the administration.

After that, the mayor of Kuvasai arrived at the scene with the police. The plant's technical director asked them to stop the strike.This plant is located in the border of Kyrgyzstan, so, that is why it is uder special control.

The General Director of the plant, Yury Starygin and his deputy Serik Ukanov came after half an hour. The mayor of Kuvasai promised to help the plant managers and workers to resolve the conflict. After that, the workers calmed down.

In addition, it should be noted that there is 1600 workes in the plant. Before this, the plant management warned that they are going to cut 500 people between 2018 and 2019.

Additionally, the plant is managed by "Kazakhstan Cement Company" LLP located in Almaty.
